What I discovered at the Belmodo Fashion Days
Geschreven door Jill Shaw
Wow, I must say the Belmodo Fashion Days were a real blast. From amazing brands that I already admired to new discoveries.
I checked out the lines of designers such as Dries Van Noten, Ann Demeulemeester, A.F. Vandevorst, Haider Ackermann, Capara, ... These designers are undoubtedly big ones in the fashion world for you to check out if you haven’t yet. I wanted to discover some new hidden hotspots, I focused on the upcoming brands. The next 3 discoveries really hit the score with me!
Does the name Frankly sound familiar to you? They sell shoes, clothing & accessories but the amazing jewelry collection of CATHs immediately caught my eye. Catherine De Groote is the fantastic woman behind this stunning collection.
What's so special about her creations? This designer goes to Northern India to work with local artists, that way creating sustainable fashion and materials. Every sophisticated jewel is made out of recycled bone, horn and wood.
If you don't want to empty your entire bank account, Labels Inc. is your salvation. At Labels Inc. you can find the most unique vintage pieces for men and women at Labels Inc. of highfashion designer brands at more reasonable prices. You could call it a mix of everything!
But what I also like about this shop is that Labels Inc. also sells clothing made by young upcoming talent. Some students of the Antwerp Fashion Academy get the chance to sell their very first pieces in this store.
Oh, I just love to dive into a shop filled with loads of the coolest collector's items. I could spend hours trying on clothes, checking & searching. Hot labels to buy here? Maison Margiela, Dries Van Noten, Marni, Raf Simons, Dior ...
In this 'pop-up' kind of building 2 talented designers were selling some of their unique creations. Ingrid Verhoeven creates very arty jewelry in colours and shapes that she loves having around her. A combination of playfulness and precise technique.
Annelies Timmermans designs luxurious leather handbags. Her collection is a fascinating melting pot of Belgian conceptual roots and an interest in the famous Italian culture of leather artisans. Practical, functional but extraordinary handbags.
Hope to see you next season!
