The Beach Look
Geschreven door Jill Shaw
You see all these amazing Instagram shots and beach babe accounts appearing like boom. I’m guessing you’re all dying to know how to get that naturel cute face?
Well … it’s all just a (little) lie. Of course natural beauty is the best kind of beauty, but every single one of us has a helping hand.
First things first: the blonde Rapunzel look.
How is it possible that she went on a vacation with a freshly cut, dark brown coupe and when she returns she has a full head of blonde highlights and that beachy long hair look?
First of all … the sun does do some magic. When I go on my yearly surfing holiday and I’m spending hours in the water, my hair gets extremely white! Sea salt + the sun = bleached blonde beach hair.
But how did it get so long in only one month? The sun doesn’t only make it look lighter and gives it a naturel shine-treatment, it also makes it grow way faster. I swear: it’s unbelievable! Being in the ocean and having the sun on your head = growing effect!
So girls, if you’re regretting that fresh short cut? Just book yourself a trip as far as possible with a lot of sun and nice blue oceans.
What do ‘the cheaters’ use? Haha, well… There are some tricks. Many brunettes don’t have enough patience to wait for those blonde shades to appear so they appeal to the tools.
Which one? – SUPER (spray blond)
You spray it wherever you want (on your lengths) and then you brush (or comb) it downwards and let it sit for a while.
The spray + the sun = bleached hair!
The tropical humidity also gives my semi-wavy hair the complete beach wave look. I don’t have to do no-th-ang! It’s just there! For those with straight hair that never ever has any movement: you can use the John Frieda Sea Salt Spray. Just spray it on humid hair and massage it. Et voilà! You have that full beach wave look!
Of course I always have some of my favorite products with me. They help my hair stay healthy and shiny and prevent it from breaking and getting dry.
How is it possible those Insta bombshells have such a dark tan and an amazing glow on their face?
Again: the sun does the magic but it is way safer to use products with a high SPF. Don’t go out there and bake bake bake until you look like a roasted chicken!
It’s not only very damaging to your skin, it awakens cancer cells and it creates a dozen of freckles that can’t ever be removed. Take care of you’re skin, you only have one and it’s not replaceable. There are a lot of expensive products available but you can also find a lot of decent, cheaper options. It’s the best investment anyways!

Even though I never get sunburn and I have a lot of pigment, that doesn’t mean I don’t have to use sunscreen with a high SPF. You can’t see the damage the sun does to your skin. Prevent it! Even when you already have a darker skin.
P.S.: Don’t ever put olive oil or any other natural oil on your body to get tanned. It’s incredibly dangerous. I know they say coconut oil protects you and it is super naturel but it doesn’t contain any protecting factor. You should put it in your hair or on your skin after you spent a day in the sun.
The glow? Well… a little sun on your face surely gives you the healthy look. But I must say drinking a lot of water and eating healthy food is the most important. Food is everything for your skin!
Foods like: avocado, berries, carrots, celery, apples, nuts… are great for everything!
