Doing the job I do allows me to meet and work with a lot of different creative individuals.
would love to introduce you all to a couple of people who all have the following thing in common: They each work their ass off to build something from their own from the bottom up. Will they succeed? Who knows, but they at least made their 1st steps to execute their ideas and do what they really want to do in life, and that my dear friends, is not easy.
6 different individuals, 6 different grinds …
Claire is only 19 years old, but I have to say that I rarely meet a girl with a drive and work ethic like hers. She is a model at Dominique Models, but more interestingly, Claire is a super talented illustrator with her very own skin art shop, aka luxury faux tattoos at it’s very best. Claire dreams of teaming up with brands like Givenchy, Louis Vuitton & Acne and just finished her 1st collaboration with Scotch & Soda!
BYRAM is a Belgian/Tunisian artist residing in Brussels who makes art installations in metal and plastic and makes his own jewelry. After a sabbatical trip to Tunesia he added making extremely colourful carpets to his skill set as well. Byram just finished anexposition in Cologne, Germany.
AJ is the 23 year old professional wild child and creative director behind the rising Belgian menswear brand A CUT ABOVE. Debuting in the fashion world as a former lingerie model for Belgian Lingerie brand La Fille D’O she teamed up with ACA founder FLO and together they are taking the brand to another ànd international level. (Robert Pattinson was spotted multiple times with his ABOVE cap) AJ is currently working on her own solo project called OMO and plans to give her 1st exposition in 2014 called ‘22’, a raw retrospective on her own life. On top of all that, AJ will gladly provide some tunes as a DJ and throw that underground basement party you heard people gushing about.
ANGELO VAN MOL
After working for London based menswear designer Ozwald Boateng, (known to provide clean cuts for A-listers like Daniel Day-Lewis, Jamie Foxx, Jude Law & Will Smith to mention a few) this former Royal Academy Antwerp menswear graduate is ready to expand his sartorial vision and Savile Row skills with his proper brand called ANGELO VAN MOL. Currently working as a freelancer for different British and Belgian luxury menswear brands, Angelo is meticulously preparing his very own debut in the world that is called menswear.
AVM aims to be the epitome of a modern day luxury brand with masculinity and elegance at its core and plans to debut this February with a range of shoes who will be available both online and at exclusive point of sales.
Think; a contemporary take on menswear mixing the essentials of sports- and formal wear.
Hmm. Dare I say…Yeezy beware….? :-)
LISBETH VAN HELLEPUTTE
After graduating at Sint Lucas Lisbeth moved to Paris where she worked as a graphic designer and editorial assistant at Antidote Magazine.
She then followed a boy to London (love still exists) and started working for Linda Farrow(luxury eyewear brand renowned for its collaborations with many of the world's most acclaimed designers (Yohji Yamamoto, Raf Simons, Dries Van Noten, Phillip Lim, Oscar de la Renta and Jeremy Scott among them). Lisbeth is their in-house graphic designer and fashion week reporter.
Besides that, Lisbeth is the Creative Director at Drop Magazine. Together with Nick Smith (who is the curator of Cold Rockin) she launched their own online space upon the www. Drop is an ever-evolving online magazine focused on Fashion, Design, Art, Music and Culture and presents a vast collection of personal interviews, fashion-forward editorials and original articles. It is a collective of contributors from all over the world.
ISH AIT HAMOU
Perhaps mostly known for his work as a dancer and choreographer. And his jury seat at the immensely popular tv show SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, Ish Ait Hamou is ready to travel different paths and being a writer is just 1 of them. Ish just finished his 1st novel called Hard/Hart which will officially hit stores Januari 30th. Hisromantic novel just received its 1st reviews, so it looks like Ish is turning 1 of his dreams into a 4 star reality…
