On being a woman and a mother of 3
Geschreven door Tiany Kiriloff
This season, more than ever, fashion is in a passionate love-affair with all things feminine and a floral dress is no exception. The wonderful thing about this mood-altering piece is that it requires little effort to style and yet always looks like you’ve put a lot of thinking into it. A dress isn’t just any piece of fabric, it is powerful, delicate and elegant… just like all women are.
This dress from Alberta Ferretti is a celebration of femininity. It emphasises the special individuals that we are and it’s my ode to all of you wonderful women, mommy’s and future mommy’s out there! I’m proud of being part of the female community and love to dress the part too as I often feel it helps me lead the way.
Us women are quite that special (I mean we were given the capability of making humankind) and there’s something about us that makes us all unique, over the years I have grown up to acknowledge the fact that us women were given heaps of talents. Society has it’s paradigm of the ideal woman, but truth is we are all ideal in our own special way and it all boils down to finding out how to make it happen so you can lead a happily ever after life.
I think it’s important to not loose yourself in for instance motherhood or love, as it’s easy to hide behind excuses like being a mommy is so time consuming. And yes, true that! It is everything and more, but I still believe it’s important to continue pursuing that little flame in you that triggers you to further develop your talents and the reason why you were brought to this world.
Ok, so I’m getting super philosophical now, but point is that to be happy in life you must ‘fulfil” yourself and acknowledge that everything you need is inside of you and along the way it’s ‘numbed’ by ideas of others, but that doesn’t mean it’s gone… and it's up to you to bring it back to life!
I guess that has brought me to me to where I am now and I’m pretty much sure that it is my key to utter happiness and balance. And trust me I’m not perfect and my household tends to look like the Tasmanian devil raged through it, but it’s ok because I’m living my dream and am passionate about so many things each and every day.
In terms of motherhood; my munchkins are everything to me and I think it’s important for them to feel comfortable in their own skin. If that means that Eloïse wants to go to school dressed as a princess, Yelena as a bohemian child and Otilia wishes to be a real-life unicorn – she added just that as a new word to her vocabulary list – than that’s fine by me. I love the fact that they already have a ‘mind’ of their own and I encourage them on a daily base to let that little voice resonate each and every day a bit more.
I want them to find out who they are and why they were brought to this world. I believe that these little individuals have all they need inside of them and it’s not my task to put boundaries to their little beings, but to encourage them to find out who they are. So they can go on to grow up and shine the way they were meant to be.
