My little darlings
Geschreven door Emilie Duchêne
I know it’s not very original to say that becoming a mum has changed my life.
However, above all it’s opened new horizons, encouraging me to keep questioning things. As a result, becoming a mum has been beneficial for my life as a woman and my work as a designer. So here I’m going to share with you my favourites for kids and my tips as a mother.
Like all mums, I dress my children while carefully watching our household budget. I usually find what I want in stores such as Zara Kids and Petit Bateau. Sometimes though, I fancy a really nice number or I’m looking for a pretty dress for an important event. That’s when I choose designs by CdeC. It has some gorgeous and immaculate clothes, yet without going over the top.
Louis Le Sec
For my daughters, I’ve really bought into linen from Louis le Sec. It’s excellent. This brand’s linen is made from cotton twinned with a special material, which offers protection from dust-mites and forms a barrier against them and bacteria. So an accidental wee-wee in bed is not a problem. It’s life-changing stuff!
Les Bonnes Manières
Clothing and accessories site for children, from babies to 8 year-olds. I love shopping there for super-trendy articles, which can’t be found in any other stores. If you buy online, deliveries arrive within a few days. This is a great site!
This book was a wake-up call for me! Shortly after the attack on Charlie Hebdo in Paris, Boris Cyrulnic gathered around 150 children’s drawings. He used them for a collection of drawings with explanations. The book is hard-hitting: you feel the anger, sadness, and incomprehension, etc. It underlined to me our poor understanding of our children’s emotions and their perception of things. Well worth reading, as a family!
Make a Wish
I’m a volunteer for this association and strongly committed to their work and goals. Make a Wish helps to realize the dreams of sick children and gives them new hope, and thus the energy they need to recover. The association organizes various fund-raising campaigns, so everyone can help. Above all, being a mum has made this cause even more important to me.
