My Levi’s Memories of Coachella-ella-ella
Geschreven door Tiany Kiriloff
I remember me being in Costa Rica when Levi’s first launched the question if I would like to join them during a weekend of Coachella fun?
I had to read the text message from Levi’s twice before actually realizing this was for real! You should know that my lady friend G and I have been dreaming of Coachella for more than 8 years but getting there hadn’t occurred until Levi’s decided to take me.
Much to my beloved lady G’s dislike, I decided to ask the hubby to tag along… G aka @cucs on Instagram decided to unfollow me during my Coachella adventures, as she couldn’t stand to see all the fun we were meant to have together…
Our weekend with Levi’s started on Friday after arriving at the Ace Hotel with a Tailor Shop Session at the Sparrows Lodge hotel in Palm Springs, where we were kindly invited to indulge in customized denim extravaganza. For the first time in my life I talked myself into cut-off shorts as I actually finally managed to find a pair (in black denim) that suits me just great.
The tailor shop offered a wide range of customization options such as destroyed and reworked, studs, patchwork, embroidery, pins and airbrush art aka the new patchwork that looks totally awesome and has an 80’s vibe to it.
After having adopted my very first pair of cut-offs and denim mini skirt we experienced our very first eve of Coachella right before sunset, which was magical because of the crazy beautiful light that had the sky looking pink and blue.
Coachella is pretty much the ideal setting for a brand such as Levi’s; I have never seen a larger concentration of cut-off jeans or customized Trucker jackets look so fashion forward! Insane!
Coachella is also to be defined as overwhelming and I truly wish I had more eyes to absorb the insane quantities of visual goodness. First of all the venue is magnificent! Turns out that Coachella is actually set on a polo field, which results in an extraordinary setting with fountains, little patio’s, flower gardens and the ever so iconic palm trees. In merely 2 weeks they set up the entire festival, which consists out of 8 different musical venues, larger than life artwork (which is often on Instagram), a series of absolutely cool tents and the ever so recognizable Ferris wheel. The extreme good quality of sound and spectacle of lights add up to the mind-boggling Coachella experience.
In addition to all of the above and an insane line-up, Coachella is also about great food and whether you’re into acai bowls, veggie meals or in search of great tasting fish or meat yummies… you name it and Coachella’s got it! Hurray for that as we had some delicious meals over the course of the weekend, heaps of yummy almond latte’s from Go get Em Tiger (iconic coffee bar in LA) included.
You should’ve seen me, like a kid in a candy store! And more than satisfied after having danced to the magical vibes of The XX!
Day 2 started of with us lounging at the Levi’s Pool Party between the likes of Poppy Delvigne, Chiara Ferragni, Sincerely Jules and many more to the beats of Virgil Abeloh! Heaps of beautiful people in super cool Levi’s outfits gathered together at this cozy event right before heading back to the Polo fields of Coachella, ready for what was going to be a long & satisfying night.
Day 2 had us dancing to Solomon, Future who brought Drake on stage and headliner Lady Gaga. But the party wasn’t over and we drove even deeper into the desert to be part of the Levi’s Neon Carnival party, which turned out to be an insane cool gathering of celebs dancing their night away. I saw Drake (closer) P Diddy, Selena Gomez, G-Eazy, Alessandra Ambrosio, Joan Smalls, Hanne Gaby and Alexander Wang go wild. Apparently I missed out on Leonardo Di Caprio and Rihanna who were also at the coolest after party of Coachella. The smile on my face was huge; satisfaction levels had peaked witnessing all of the above.
Day 3 had us sleeping out a bit, much needed indeed! I also indulged into some vintage shopping as Palm Springs turned out to have some pretty cool stuff! We headed over to the Coachella fields at noon, not entirely ready to say goodbye to the amazing Coachella. Once more a magical sunset and a fun pic with the group in front of the iconic Ferris wheel.
I still feel as if I missed out on heaps of stuff and even if I had my wandering around I am still struggling with a serious case of #fomo (fear I actually missed out) as Coachella is really huge and a feast for your eyes.
To me this was an amazing experience and I thank Levi’s for being the perfect host and for letting me be part of this! We heart you #LiveInLevis
