Meet Doc Kirilove
Geschreven door Tiany Kiriloff
Having kids reminds you of the crazy little fantasies you had when you were tiny.
I remember thinking that clouds could stop planes from crashing, as I believed they would ‘care-bear’ wise just make planes float. I still recall a mini-me eating truckloads of grape seeds as I wanted to see what it would be like to grow a grapevine from the inside of my tummy and my parents continuously tricked me into eating green veggies by telling me that my eyes would turn green.
I also had ‘professional’ ambitions and dreams of what I would become once I would grow up and obviously these dreams changed over the course of my existence except for one.
So the real mini Kirilove – meaning me - once dreamt of a future as a doctor. I was totally convinced I would have a career in some big hospital saving the lives of those that suffered injuries. I think I nourished that dream for about 4 years with every possible doctor set for kids and an entire collection of doctor Barbie’s.
My dreams of becoming Doc Kirilove were however torn to bits and pieces the first time I had blood drawn. I remember seeing the needle going into my veins, followed by the blood, seconds later I fainted. I then realized I had been pursuing the wrong dream as being able to deal with blood is pretty much quintessential to being a doc and so I decided to donate every single toy stethoscope I owned. The end of that professional career I guess…
I still believe the medical world mourns the fact I never made it to the local ER, I’m however convinced that I’m better off with a pair of stilettos than with a scalpel.
I still have a needle trauma and I still get the hibbie jibbies when the doc has to draw blood. In fact, I always turn my head away as I’m still afraid I’ll faint again.
I now however do get to enjoy hearing what my mini’s dream of becoming when they grow up; from baby photographer to fashion writer, as they like to call it. From birdwatcher to surf chick, to dolphin whisperer, to doggy walker. The variety of futures announced by my offspring is numerous and my wish to them is that they can make it all happen in as much happiness as they can handle.
I love wearing a long shiny skirt, as it immediately makes your outfit a tad more glam. In winter times colors usually get darker, but not for me. I like to inspire me as much as possible to all prints and colors at any time. And if it's to cold outside to wear a fabulous dress, combine it with a cozy sweater and some classic luxurious boots. Outfit ready!
