How looks are created for Fashion Week
Geschreven door Bobbi Brown
For Fashion Week, I always meet with the designer beforehand and we collaborate on the look that best compliments the collection.
My inspiration comes not only from the clothes, colors and textures, but also from the mood of the show and the designer’s feel for the season. I take my inspiration from the women I meet, from art and from color – the colors I see in everyday life.
This season, everything starts with nude - it's the foundation of beauty. As a makeup artist, I've always focused on creating a nude look that's not about no-makeup, but about wearing the right makeup for your skin tone. I like to pair a nude face with a pop of color – on eyes, lips or cheeks.
The biggest trends from Spring 16 Fashion Week were makeup looks that were not overly done. We saw a lot of clean, highlighted skin and lightly bronzed cheeks, paired with bolder brows. Flawless skin and glowing cheeks were all over the runway this season. Remember, what you see on the runway is theater—it’s exaggerated to make a statement. I take those looks and adjust them so that they are realistic for me, for you, for any woman to wear.
