Well hello London! Well hello Lana!
Upon my arrival in sunny London for the RCA conference Fashioning the City about upcoming fashion capitals and online fashion identities, I'm greeted everywhere by Lana del Rey for H&M on billboards and London buses.
Yesterday the launch of the conference got off well with a talk with Lynne Murray from the augmented shopping-startup Holition, as she explained how we can expect in 5 years to no longer see clothes in shops but mostly screens. Exciting! Stefan Siegl from Not Just A Label, the edgy online talent platform, explained how they grow and breed local fashion talents from all over the world. Here you see the speakers with Stefan on the right.
I went for a quick walk in Hyde Park, where the Serpentine gallery had a new pavilion by Ai WeiWei, a very awesome construction of a flat water circle on top of a soft cork construction where you can sit and lounge. London can be so exciting and inspiring!
Today Momu's director Kaat Debo kicked off the day with a panel session on fashion on display, truly an invigorating morning talk.
We still have a long program for lectures today!
And I am speaking at the very end about Momu's upcoming study collection which you'll be able to consult through our library. As a treat I might just pop into Topshop tonight where they have my current designers crush JW Anderson x TS collection!
Love from London,
