Little flashback to Paris Fashion Week, the day I attended the Chanel show dressed in one of the most beautiful embroidered velvet blue kaftan dresses that I’ve ever seen.
Designed by the Lebanese based Sandra Mansour, who once worked side by side with the master of princess attire Elie Saab himself. I bumped into the very talented Sandra during one of my many showroom visits and the rest of the story is kind of history as it was love at first sight.
Sandra’s creations are all extremely feminine and inspired by her Middle East roots. It’s an ode to a mixture of cultures, an aspect to fashion that I still find incredibly appealing.
Sandra and I pretty much immediately fell in love with each other and as it often happens during Fashion Weeks, she asked me if I wanted to wear one of her creations to one of the Paris Fashion Week shows. After numerous outfit try-outs, because everything is incredibly beautiful and I had a hard time deciding on what not to wear, I ended up choosing this fabulous kaftan embroidered velvet blue dress.
It’s a piece of art on its own and needed not much more than these elegant white Aperlai sandals and my staple Uniqlo white turtleneck to fight that Parisian chilly morning back in March.
