There’s something about Dorothee…

Door Tiany op 12.02.2015

Some encounters and experiences are highly remarkable and make their way to your fashionista heart to stay there forever. It’s been three weeks now (sorry, time flies) since I was invited to Berlin to attend the Dorothee Schumacher show, but I can still feel the wonderful power and positive energy that radiated from the lady of the hour Mrs. Dorothee Schumacher herself and her wonderful team.

Yes, please go ahead and call it admiration, as Dorothee is pretty much everything I admire in a woman: she is gracious, elegant, creative, heartwarming, a true cosmopolite, a successful entrepreneur and while at it… a mother of 4!

She’s been around fashion ever since the 80’s and strongly believes that femininity is the key to being a successful, strong & beautiful woman. It’s all about feeling perfect in every-day glamour and she’s managed to make an entire imperium based on that philosophy.

The Dorothee Schumacher world consists out of beautiful collections of pret-a-porter, shoes, bags and in addition to an already huge collection, Dorothee also manages to create some amazing pieces of jewelry that add the necessary finishing touch to her outfits.

Her eye for detailing is elaborate and reflects not only in her choices of materials, prints and embellishments, but also in her mind-boggling beautiful packaging, which along with the collections is desirable all the way.

The Dorothee Schumacher FW2015 woman loves leather and combines it with flowery prints, she’s totally into raw denim and knows how to mix 'n match textures and prints. The color palette is a mix of wine red and dark green hues, embellished nudes, sophisticate grey but also vibrant red and Klein blue.

There is a 70’s vibe throughout the collection with high waist a-line skirts, cropped trimmed jackets, pony hair & suede, turtle necks and abstract flower prints.

Needless to say I loved every little bit of it!
