Although rain poured down on us upon arrival in Stockholm, I can only conclude that one of my favorite cities in the world was good to me again.
I was invited by Björn Borg to attend their homecoming, as it’s been 6 years ever since they presented a collection in Stockholm and for the occasion they had set up this catwalk in this amazing grotto on one of the many Stockholm islands.
The collection and the total show experience was inspired by their so-called “First Person Lover” game, a computer game that Björn Borg plans to launch in January 2015… I’m however not the gaming type of person so I won’t be jumping on that bandwagon, but I was pretty much impressed with the sporty, edgy and sexy styles that were launched on the catwalk and presented by masked models with robot moves.
These pretty looking avatars were styled by celebrity stylist and fashion activist (dixit herself) Bea Akerlund who in the past was responsible for many stage and video outfits of stars such as Lady Gaga, Madonna and Beyoncé. She wanted to recreate the experience of the game during the show, and it must be said that she totally succeeded in adding a subliminal show factor with a surprising styling and her pretty amazing rubber masks.
