Kiriloves Maureen De Clercq

Door Tiany op 11.12.2013

I’ve been sporting truckloads of tartan lately and the minute I bumped into this fluffy yellow & white tartan coat, I knew it had to be mine. In my humble opinion, a girl can never have enough coats and when talking winter wardrobes it’s pretty much the one and only thing that makes a styling interesting, as it’s practically the only thing you get to see. I've been madly in love with these checks and find it pretty easy to combine with either daily jeans or woollen trousers, but also perfectly elegant when paired with a white dress or combined with a black pencil skirt.

This pretty exemplar is the creation of Belgian designer and fashion teacher Maureen De Clercq. She graduated from the Antwerp Royal Academie of Fine Arts in 1996 and has been working as a stylist but also as a teacher at the Academy of Sint Niklaas over the past few years.  She joined the team of professors of the Academy of Antwerp in 2009  which was also the year that she decided to launch her own collection and private boutique in Antwerp South.

Her creations are delicately feminine but at the same time audacious, combining minimalistic precise silhouettes with amazing fabrics. Besides being the designer of this fabulous coat Maureen is also well known for her amazing dresses, which serve both the purpose of daily use and festive occasions. These are mostly made to order and the good news is you’ll be buying ‘couture’ at a very democratic price…
