I love being a tourist in my own country at that’s why the hubby and I often decide to book full weekends in one of our lovely Belgian cities… That might as well also be the secret to our relationship, as we both tend to get pretty much absorbed by our jobs and the mini-me and sometimes really need to schedule some time to just be a couple… like in the old days.
Not so long ago we visited Brussels and decided to stay in the very heart of the fashion scene. We booked ourselves a room at The Hotel and were totally surprised by the amazing view that comes with their refurbished stylish rooms. Our full 10 points go their service, their beds, their rooms and breakfast.

WHAT TO DO WHEN IN BRUSSELS?
Well, honestly, there are a gazillion things you can do when in our capital city. Staying at The Hotel means that you’re in the chicest street of Brussels, meaning: luxury shops in abundance to gaze at. Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Cartier, Paule Ka… you name it and the Boulevard de Waterloo has it. But there is more to Brussels and I hereby present you to just a shortlist of my absolute favorite things to do and places…
-Have breakfast at Gaudron, their terrace with view of the Place Brugmann is always a hotspot.
-Have lunch at ICI, which pretty much means a lot of organic yummies.
-Make an appointment at Céline D’Aoust and treat yourself to a lovely piece of jewelry.
-Vintage Items (Rue Darwin) is the place to be for lovely vintage goods for your home.
-Scènes de Ménage (4 Place Brugmann) has always been a favorite of mine, just to score those amazing little extras that make your house your home
-If you’re looking for some top-notch 2nd hand brands then please visit Lady Dandy, this little hidden treasure shop always manages to surprise me with their to-die-for selection.
-Cachemire Coton et Soie is a must see multi-brand shop, cozy and a totally perfect selection of brands.
-When talking fashion temples, then Smets is the place to be, this store is mind-boggling and offers a wide selection of amazing designer brands, a fine selection of beauty products, gadgets, food, accessories, design, art… you name it… and Smets has it! Smets even has the perfect restaurant, to dine at after having filled your bags with delightful goodies.
Many thanks to Sabrina from Afterdrk for the pics of Ici, Céline D'Aoust and Scènes de Ménage
