I’ve created two little fashion monsters and to be honest: I’m really having a ball with them. You tell my mini-me’s they’re about to get photobomed and they start striking fierce poses, which really have me suspecting even a Naomi C. would be jealous of.
Drop a bag of new clothes in their near surroundings and they will go totally fashion ballistic, babbling about like chicks gone wild, discussing who will wear what and at the same time bringing in their collection of Converse All Stars into battle. It’s funny to see how genes and my elaborated passion for fashion have become infectious and I must admit that I sometimes dare dream of a designer duo future, like for instance the lovely sisters of Belgian brand Filles à Papa… but then again, they should just have it their way, right?
Last year our Belgian most elegant designer pride, lady Diane von Furstenberg teamed up with GapKids to create the cutest ever capsule collection. I practically bought every single piece available in the pop-up shop. Turns out that the colorful & adorable mini-me creations were not only reasonably priced, but also of a particularly good quality, eureka indeed!
A year later I find myself delighted again as a sequel to the collab in between DVF and GapKids/ BabyGap has just hit stores.
Hurray to mini wrap dresses, a wave of happy colors and the abundance of little hearts and ethnic inspired prints. Say yes to joyful little girl creations, over the top cute accessories and the spirit of Diane all over little dresses, tops, skirts & shorts for girls aged from 0 to 12 years.
I was lucky enough to get my hands on some of the DVF for Gap pieces and even luckier to be able to contemplate the smiles and the twinkling little eyes of my kids… I can now honestly conclude that fashion has the power to make you happy, don’t you think?
