Chanel magic: wish I was a Highlander

Door Tiany op 05.12.2012

The crème de la crème of this planet’s fashion scene was yesterday part of yet another little bit of Chanel magic as my all time favorite designer brand plunged them into the magical world of the annual Chanel Metiers d’Art collection… a collection they designed to showcase the workmanship of France’s finest ateliers.

My invitation must have accidentally ended up in a portion of haggis as I wasn’t there, but I managed to collect some fancy pics of what went on in the most romantic scenery ever.

Chanel taking over Linlithgow Palace

The burned out ruins of Linlithgow Palace outside Edinburgh (aka the place of birth of Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots) were the décor of Karl’s Scottish inspired collection. The likes of Edie Campbell, Stella Tennant and Cara Delvinge flaunted creations that all of a sudden have me wishing I were a Highlander of some kind, red head by preference and born free of spirit… sounds nice, no?

Think wool skirts, Shetland wool jumpers, tartan trimmed coats, Argyle prints, knotted ribbons, lace-up booties, truckloads of layers, volumes and cozy coats. Think of Coco’s beloved knitwear and tweed, which she once discovered in Scotland while on a trip with her lover the Duke of Westminster. All these elements masterfully engineered into one collection of pure Chanel perfection.
