You know I'm a sucker for designers, but I still love my deal of mainstream shops and I certainly adore the styles New Look is introdiucing this summer. A couple of months ago I got invited to the SS 2012 presentation and yes I bumped into some great looks that are all affordable all the way and of course catwalk inspired... don't get me wrong, we're not talking copy cats, it's just a bit of catwalk inspiration translated in a New Look kind of way.
Just a recap of the main summer trends you've probably been sporting for so very long...
Pretty in pastel
It's mellow yellow and mint green galore on the catwalks, just have a look at the SS 2012 of Sonia Rykiel, Chloe, Acne & Proenza Schouler to know what this lady's talking about... As a result pastels are all over the place and just in case you dig the look but are not entirely prepared to go bankrupt, check out what New Look's got in petto for you...

Pastels and pleats as seen chez New Look.
Power to flowers
Pretty flowers have entered the fashion scene and with sunny days on your side, you'll do just fine when in bloom.

You want flowers... no probs and while you're at it, mix it up with some lovely lace!
It's a bit of africa bambatta running through the fashion veins of BCBG Max Azria, L.A.M.B. and Etro

New Look takes on some ethnic inspiration but skips on going all the way, fine with me as I'm really into a mix & match of pretty ladylike styles gone a bit wild.
From Catwalk to New Look
The Chloé collection is always a catwalk darling and my heart certainly went boom boom when I first saw the clean cut striped dresses in the finest silks. For those of you that find yourselves drooling over this look but don't have a savings account that gives... enter the New Look solution, which is of course slightly deifferent put lovely all the way.
D&G brings on some sexy chiquita colorful dresses, desirable as hell but not entirely available chez nous. So guess what, New Look has it's take on the trend but does it affordable style...
Fille meets garçon on the Sonia Rykiel catwalk, off the catwalk it's New Look that brings a derivated must-have selection of la pretty garçonnette. Like it? Well,I certainly do!
Pucci goes print galore in maxi volumes and that inspires New Look to do a perhaps more werable solution containing sexy splits to both sides. It's hot and in stores as we speak, so just go get it babes!
Proenza Schouler redifines the little black dress and New Look makes it more than interesting with a body con version fit for all your party hardy evenings out.
