There’s probably a story to each and every garment and pair of shoes I own, which pretty much means that I could easily write a 13-series wardrobe novel about my notorious closet …
Now imagine that becoming a bestseller and a series on Netflix, I’d be filthy rich and finally capable of buying all the Gucci and Céline in this world - worth the try, don’t you think? In the pursuit of that, I’ll just fill this blogspot with my peculiar wardrobe antics … enter the story of my California Star T-Shirt!
This T-shirt, which I’ve already crowned my favourite summer tee, is yet another souvenir I ‘found’ in my beloved Amsterdam. I bought it in May while cycling around the so-called '9 straatjes' (9 streets).
Story is I got invited to Amsterdam to attend the presentation of the lovely Anna Nooshin and her collection for lingerie mogul Hunkemöller. Instead of grabbing Ubers or taxis I decided to rent a bike and cruise around the city.
I had no intentions whatsoever to do any shopping at all - no time or money - but this brilliant t-shirt caught my attention in just a glimpse while passing the shop. You should’ve seen me step on my brakes, clumsy as usual I used my front brakes and almost got catapulted into one of the canals because of that.
What happened next must have looked like a scene from Looney Tunes’ Tasmanian Devil: the Fashion issue… as I grabbed the shirt, posed with it in front of the shop’s mirror, requested a size 0 (NOT), ignored the question whether I wanted to try it or not, paid for it and buzzed off.
This entire handling was completed within 3 minutes, locking my bike included… Just to give you an idea of how fast yours truly can spend money… More stories like that, soon available in my imaginary bestseller
