As the weather in Florence is heating up, so are the Style Labs at Luisa Via Roma Firenze4Ever! It’s always fun to see the personality of each blogger revealed in the looks that they choose and the direction that they give the photographers - especially when a theme like ‘punk’ is outside the comfort zone of many of them.
They stretched themselves; they experimented; and we have to admit… the result is style anarchy at its finest.
After 2 days of fun in the sun (and in the flagship store in Florence), we’ve seen some awesome photo shoots and spent a lot of time chatting with some of our favourite bloggers, trendsetters and journalists from all over the globe. Each has a different perspective, a different style, a different background, but all speak the same language: fashion.
We asked 30 fashion friends to define punk. The nearly unanimous answer? Punk defines an attitude. It’s doing whatever feels right, whenever you feel like it. Punk is glamorous - but only if it makes you happy. Only if itexpresses who you are. As Charlotte Collard said, “Rock n’ roll is always trendy and punk can certainly play into that. Glamour is feeling good about yourself. It’s about being happy.”
With all of the work that we put into an event like Firenze4Ever, it would be easy to lose sight of true glamour. Behind the lights, the cameras, the smiles, the Facebook, Twitter and Weibo profiles lies a whole lot of blood, sweat and laughter. And when it all comes together, at the end of the day, that punk meets glamour attitude is lived out to the full.
As fashion punks in rooms with designers like MCM, Giuseppe Zanotti, Cesare Casadei, Jade Jagger and many more, what blogger, journalist or fashionista wouldn’t be happy?
This year, the closing dinner and concert were more than just a spectacular closing act. Lights and music invaded the most elegant of ambiances (the Boboli Gardens), infusing it with underground grit. It was grunge with a glamorous twist. Or was it glamour gone grunge? Either way, there was serious attitude.
