So how is your body doing lately?
Not too long ago I decided that the days of neglecting my body, not working out and not paying any attention on what I put in my mouth is officially over.
You know what I’m talking about right? Lays Mexican Pepper & Cream, carbs, carbs and more carbs, fried chicken galore, chocolate cookie overdose. Us women, we just can’t resist. Well at least I can’t. Or couldn’t.
I used to work as a model for a while and I was lucky to have a pretty good body metabolism, so I was used to stuffing myself with crap without gaining any weight. Once I hit the mark of 25 I started to notice that those days were slowly but surely coming to an end and I found myself a new enemy: gravity. Yikes.
I stumbled over Elite Athletes via Olivier Goetgeluck, a pretty interesting guy who’m I started following since he has been reading my blog A Polaroid Story since day 1.
I always check who my readers are, mostly because I probably can learn a thing or 2 from them and just because I’m curious who actually takes the time to read 3000 to 5000 words online. Ha!
So turns out Olivier is a professional coach who co-owns ELITE ATHLETES together with his business partner Joerik Michiels.
What started out as a training facility to coach and train elite Belgian basketball talent to prevent Belgian clubs to go out shopping for B-ball players in the States and use Belgian players instead;
quickly evolved into a training facility for regular people like you and me as well.
If you’re tired of your own ostrich politics when it comes to exercising, working out and your body, maybe this place can help you. Or maybe this article can at least make you think about a change?
Don’t be mistaken, it’s hard work and this facility does not look like your local gym or spa where you can work out without losing a drop of sweat and look at yourself in the mirror all the time, flexin’ it out.
The Elite Athletes’ industrial environment with a basketball court (of course) and a gym is merely designed to let you focus on the bare essence of your workout. No pain, no gain. It’s all very military, but that’s the way I like it.
f your mind is even considering to give up, there are a dozen quotes sticked to the wall, reminding you that quitting or giving up would be a very, very, lame thing to do.
There are few men who can tell me what to do, but this fine individual is 1 of them. Meet my Elite Athletes coach Olivier Goetgeluck. He’s probably the only man in my life that I actually allow to let me suffer.
His favorite quote? Well…
“someone once told me the definition of hell: during your last day on earth, the person you became will meet the person you could have become.”
Also happy to introduce his partner in crime; Joerik. His favourite quote is:
"hard in here, easy out there."
Considering to apply yourself for the Elite Athletes method and become that mean, lean machine you always wanted to be?
A first testrun at the #EAFacility will cost you € 29,-, or you can also pick a 1 on 1 approach (like me) combined with an online training schedule.
P.S.: Don’t worry, I will feature some more girly stuff on here as well.
