Let me reveal my ultimate me-time moments.
It seems as if nowadays being busy, busy is like the one right thing to do. I however, like taking it easy as time flies but I only started to realize that when I became a mommy as you see your kids grow up so fast that in a glimpse you all of a sudden have an 8 and 6 year old kid that are more than eager to see the world. You can’t imagine how delighted I am of having again a new-born in my life, being a mommy invigorates me more than ever and I feel very grateful for that.
Having three daughters is the greatest blessing ever and it helps you put things into perspective and it helps you enjoy the tiny things in life. Sure it requires some master organisation and yes I do often find myself running around like a crazy woman, so after a hectic week scheduling some me-time comes in very welcome and is sometimes quite necessary.
Over the years I have created this rule, that I don’t work during my weekends and I really try to keep them sacredly destined for my family and friends. We all have our own personal favourites on how to unwind, and I’d hereby love to share mine.
If you don’t believe me: try it. It might take a while to get used to the entire Pilates process and the weird positions, but once you get it: it’s super relaxing. I enjoy the fact that Pilates enables you to zone out completely and only focus on your movements & body– without having to worry about anything else.
Winter walks along the Belgian coast
The Belgian climate is not exactly what you would call tropical, but I’m totally in peace with that and find it even very relaxing to make it extra cosy during the cold winter days. Besides the snuggling around and extra pampering of my body during the winter period I also enjoy long walks along the coast. The air is fresh and pure and I love the feel of the cold salty mist against my skin. Whenever we can, we hit the beach with the kids and just stroll around until it gets too cold. A warm soothing bath and some hot cocoa make it all extra relaxing… I take it all in and then let it all out.
Spending time with friends & family
As a mother of three, family time is extremely important to me. Being around my loved ones makes me feel at ease and relaxes me completely. Having a family of my own was always an important goal in life and I’m delighted with my lovely & so valuable achievement of 3 beautiful girls and their loving daddy, aka the man I get to call my husband. I find a lot of peace of mind in taking care of my loved ones and even if I’m now somewhat deprived of sleep, because of little Otilia and her needs at night; I feel more than satisfied and totally at ease. These are life’s real little luxuries and there’s no money, designer frock or bag that could make me think otherwise.
