People will not actually believe it, but fashion weeks can get pretty tough and I have only just begun.
I’m currently in Milan and totally once more extremely excited about being here as it has been quite a while, after skipping a season to take care of my beloved baby O.
Fashion Weeks can be all the fun and are totally about the fashion going on but also about meeting up with friends you’ve made over the past years. You suffer a bit, mostly because of high heels that look gorgeous but that are way too uncomfortable. But then again all the pretty sights constantly wow you and make you forget all the little physical suffering.
Breakfast is primordial during Fashion Weeks as chances are you’ll have your next meal late at night after the last shows around 10 pm.
I eat truckloads of nuts and raisins to get me through the day; I drink liters of water to keep my skin looking ok despite the extremely short nights and the crazy busy days. As soon as I can I’ll try to reveal more about my beauty tricks when on the run … promised.
Venues to shows are widely spread across the entire city and you’ll be running from a to z. There’s also an abundance of traffic jams and crazy taxi drivers getting annoyed with fashionistas striking poses on Italian streets. It’s quite a sight I must admit and I had totally forgotten how exciting it all tends to get.
My first look in Milan has me all cinched by this gorgeous belt, wearing jeans culottes and this fabulous little woollen harness, designed by Dorothee Schumacher, who totally knows how to do feminine with a very edgy twist.
