When I'm in Milan, I love dining at my favorite restaurants like Osaka and checking out recently opened establishments like Drogheria Milanese in San Marco and Prada's Bar Luce.
It's even more fun when friends are in town for a visit, like Chloe and Harry who stopped over for a long weekend.
I know it may seem strange that one of my favorite restaurants here in Milan is Japanese, but Osaka's authentic food is excellent and would stand out anywhere in the world. Plus, it has the seal of approval of Milan's favorite Japanese chefs. I've caught a few of them lunching there over the years, sightings that have solidified my enthusiasm for the ramen, sashimi and special salmon skin rolls.
Drogheria Milanese prides itself on high quality basic ingredients like butter, oil, eggs and bread. If you love traditional Italian food, but are curious about trying a modern spin on those staples, Drogheria Milanese will satisfy your curiosity with tapas style and large plate offerings.
Bar Luce is a candy shop kind of a cafe, with every object shiny and bright. Located at the Prada foundation, it was designed by Wes Anderson a long time collaborator of Muccia Prada. The space recreates the atmosphere of a typical Milanese bar and is the perfect place to enjoy a drink with friends, read, or just take in the brilliant vibes of the Prada Fondation.
Make sure you check them out the next time you're in Milan!
