As you may or may not know, boxing is the hottest workout of this generation. Everyone is digging the boxing thing.
I’m crazy about boxing. It’s incredible what this kinda workout does for your body. It’s super fun, it’s active and you can get all your frustrations and energy out! Oh and you’re not thinking about working out but about kicking some ass!!
You can go easy and hold back a little for ‘a technical cardio workout’ or you can go all the way and go for ‘a heavy interval workout’. Either way you burn loads of calories because you’re always using your entire body.
When I go for a few rounds with my boyfriend (professional Muaythai fighter) I come out of that ring, ex-haus-ted but incredibly satisfied. The day after? You feel like you worked every single muscle. And it’s a fact: you use every muscle in your body: your arms, your shoulders, your back, your core and your legs.
What works for what?
- Punches = Killer core, chest, arm workout
- Kicks = Killer core, legs, ass workout
It’s not that you have to be a professional boxer, but working on your technique a little is a must. Once you've got that under control you will be able to hit more powerful and precise. By adding some technique to it you will surely box better and get more out of your workout.
My perfect workout routine? 6K of running (or other cardio) + 25 min of strength exercices and last but not least I try to add 15 minutes of high intensity box combinations.
