My mother has always been an avid gardener, so I spent my childhood and teenage years surrounded by beautiful flowers.
Not much of a green thumb myself, I channel my mother's love of all things floral into cheerful bouquets. Fortunately for me, the Milanese also adore flowers and there are beautifully stocked kiosks all around town as well as charming floral shops that create breathtaking compositions.
My two favorite kiosks are located in San Babila near Zara Home and on the corner of Via Monte Napoleone and Via Manzoni. I also adore the florist at Tearose Boutique, which in my opinion carries some of the best orchids in town – ask any of my friends how long their ‘s have lasted.
But my absolute favorite florist is Frida’s located on Corso Garibaldi. Filled with the most intriguing blooms, I can spend hours there chatting with head florist Ingrid. An absolute artist when it comes to composition, her use of color and her mastery of volume and texture is quite impressive.
Plus, her aesthetic is always spot on season after season. From perfectly groomed classics to romantic field favorites, she’s always one stem a head. So much so, that the shop recently opened a little counter at the department store La Rinascente in Piazza Duomo.
So if you ever find yourself in Milan and care to spruce up your accommodations, stop by one of these shops – they’ve got blooms for dayz.
