We knit where we source the yarn: 100% cashmere! And 30% cashmere and 70% wool IN Outer Mongolia. This is our story. To work with traditional knitter with modern and creative ideas.
"Mongolia. The total land area is as big as Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Spain, all put together. Huge, that is."
"End of May. The herd of cashmere goats is ready to be combed. During winter, temperatures can reach –50°C (much colder than in China). This extreme cold climate helps Mongolian goat herders to produce the finest and the longest cashmere fiber available anywhere. Impressive. Our “goat boy” hand combs the precious down hair as it sheds naturally from the goats. Quite physical for both parties!"
"The wool collected goes to co-op farms, where cashmere dealers get their supplies. On average, a goat produces 100-125 grams of cashmere per year. So, it takes at least 3 cashmere goats to make one cashmere sweater."
